Version 1.4.17 has some path changes to further avoid conflicting with Amarok 1.4.x . But a major issue has come up and I’m not sure what’s causing it. It no longer builds on my Ubuntu test machines. If you can try to compile from source and tell me if and where it fails that would be a great help. Even greater would be if you could suggest a fix

Pana News
March 1st, 2010The player has a decent logo now, thanks to Christopher Stark.
The PPA doesn’t install correctly, I had planned to fix it this past weekend but instead spent the weekend installing Kubuntu and Fedora over and over. I was going to start using Ubuntu but the NVIDIA driver does not work well enough for me to be able to use it so I am back to Fedora. If anyone knows how to make PPAs and can chat on IM or IRC I think I have a couple quick questions that would really help to know the answer to.
There is another clone of Amarok 1.4 that many people have sent me lately : http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/ . There are some issues with code sharing because of the license , GPLv2 of Amarok 1.4 that I used as a base cannot be mixed with GPLv3 that they are using. I’m looking at other possibilities so that I am not wasting my time while everyone switches to theirs
If you see any other forks or copies out there please keep sending them to me.

Pana 1.4.14 Released
February 6th, 2010This is the same as 1.4.13 but I’ve checked every single file for license information. A few that I edited to say “GPL 3 or later” had to be switched back. There’s no way to release this under GPLv3 for the time being. Please use this version or later for bug reports or patches.
